Senior Portrait Questions:
1. How many outfits can I wear?
A. There is no limit to the number of outfits you can bring. You will probably want several pictures taken in each outfit. For example if you go with the 15 pose option, and have 3 pictures in each outfit that would mean 5 different outfits. Some seniors do their whole session with only one outfit. Most however choose to bring in a variety of clothing along.
2. May I have some outside photos taken?
A. Yes, We are located right across the creek from scenic C.A.R.P. park. There are many places along the creek and trees that give excellent photographic opportunities. We also do on location work. There may be an extra charge for time if the location is not near our studio. We have also put in our own garden out back with a waterfall and gazebo.
3. May I have some pictures taken with my pet?
A. Yes, We photograph pets with senior portraits, families, and children all the time. We have even done some exotic animals like birds and one girl brought in a 8 ft Boa Constrictor snake. Large animals such as ponies or horses are taken outside in C.A.R.P. park.
4. May I have my picture taken with my boyfriend/girlfriend, sister, brother, baby, etc?
A. Yes, You may have some of your pictures taken with relatives and friends. There is no extra charge to have other people in your portraits.
5. Can we schedule a family portrait sitting the same time as the senior sitting?
A. Yes, No problem, please tell us at the time of the booking so we can allow some extra time to do the family.
6. May I have my photo taken with my vehicle?
A. Yes, We take a lot of seniors with their vehicles. Mostly cars, bikes, and pickup trucks but we did do one senior with a semi-truck.
7. What should I bring with me?
A. Be sure to bring all the clothes, jewelry, and props you may want to use. You may want to bring both formal and informal clothes. The best portrait is not only a picture of you but it also tells a story about you. For example one senior boy had his picture taken of him sitting on a bale of hay, in the back of his pickup truck, playing on his guitar, with a 6 pack of Mountain Dew beside him. Please give some thought to what you want your portrait to say about you. If you are into sports bring in outfits and props for that sport. If you are a cheerleader bring in your outfit and pom poms, if you are into hunting, fishing, scuba diving, skateboarding, biking, etc., bring in props that apply to you. If you are religious you may want a portrait of you holding a Bible and a rose. If you spend all your time talking on your phone bring your phone in. For example we did a portrait of a senior girl holding her phone, while looking at a picture of her boyfriend. With soft focus it came out great. If you collect stuffed animals you may want to bring them in. We would also suggest you wear a variety of different styled clothing. Maybe a suit or prom gown, dresses, skirts, slacks, jeans, sweats, or shorts. The main thing is to wear clothes that you look and feel good in. You could also bring in your favorite hat. If you want your portrait done in a drape we also have several colors.
8. What backgrounds and props do you have?
A. We have lots of different backgrounds and props. Most of our canvas backgrounds can be changed with a click of a button. We can also change the color of these backgrounds with the 52 filters we have. We have a large number of chairs and stools, Victorian, wicker, wooden... just to name a few. We also have the large numbers to show the year. We also have screens, fireplace, slit rail fence, wooden barrel, Antique wagon wheel, tree branch, stump, rock, mirrors, silk flowers, etc. etc. Whether you want a formal portrait done in a suit with a bookcase background or an informal portrait of you in cut-offs and tube top, sitting bare-footed on a rock in front of wagon wheel next to wooden barrel, we can accommodate you.
9. How long does the sitting last?
A. It really depends on the number of different outfits you want and the number of pictures you want taken. Also, If you want outside photos taken it will take longer. If you just want 10 poses all in the same outfit it should take less than a half hour. Most 15 to 20 pose sittings, with outside and multiple clothing changes usually take about an hour, and 30 or more pose sitting with lots of outfit changes may take two hours.
10. How long does it take to get the proofs back?
A. It will take about 1 to 3 days. How ever if you need a year book photo right away we can show you your year book pose at your sitting and have it printed within a day or 2. there is an additional charge for this service.
11. How much is due at the time of the sitting?
A. The sitting fee is due at the time of the sitting. 10 pose sitting $20.00... 15 pose sitting $25.00...20 pose sitting $30.00... 30 pose sitting $40.00 There is a $5 additional charge if you want your proofs mailed to you. There may be an additional charge for on location session if the location is not near the studio.
12. Do you retouch blemishes?
A. Yes, Retouching can be done, it is an optional service. The charge is $8 per negative. You must specify that you want it retouched when you place your order. Many small blemishes and scars may be covered up with make-up to avoid the $8 per negative charge on the poses you want to order from. We can also remove braces, add missing teeth, and remove wrinkles.
13. How much make-up should I wear?
A. In almost every case you should wear what you would normally put on. You may want to use a little lighter color around the eyes than you would normally wear. Also you may want to cover up all blemishes with make-up to avoid a lot of retouching expenses.
14. May I draw my own background?
A. Yes, It must be 8x10 so it can fit into our scanner. We can put the two images together in the computer.
15. Can you do any special effects?
A. Yes, We can do all different types of special effects. Please let us know what you want at the start of the sitting. Some of the special effects are done in the camera and some are done afterwards on the computer.
16. Will I be on your web site?
A. yes, We are putting all of our seniors on our site unless you ask us not to put you on the site. We may even us your photos in our advertising. When you pick up your proofs there will be a from in your book that will allow you to specify if you want us to use your portraits. We replace all of our seniors each year with that years seniors. We only post your photo after you have placed your order. We can also put your Picture on your own web site.
17. Do you do glamour type photography and soft focus?
A. Yes, We can do glamour type photos. We hope to be able to even offer make over for these photos in the near future. We can also do a soft focus for that special touch.
18.Can I design my own package?
A. Yes, We have 4 packages. But you can order individual photo if the package isn't what you want. We also except credit cards.
19. Do you supply a b+w for the yearbook?
A. Yes, We do provide a free B&W or color photo for the year book. You just need to provide us with the date the year book needs the photo. We will give the year book picture to you unless you tell us to mail it to the school.
20. Can I have my pictures made into a calendar?
A. Yes, We can us the portraits we have taken or you may bring your own. We put a different photo on each month. The calendar can start with what ever month you choose.
21. Do you take pictures on location?
A. Yes, There may be an extra charge for location shots.
1. Can a family portrait be done at the same time as a senior portrait?
A. Yes, Many of our seniors have a family portrait done at the same time.
2. Can the parents and children be done separate?
A. Yes, Children and Parents can be done separately. And when you place an order of the photos of the children you will get the children's price.
3. Can you do entire families (grandparent, children, grandchildren, and
great grandchildren) ?
A. Yes, We can do generations, each family can be done separately as well as one large group.
4. Do you do location shoots for family portraits?
A. Yes, We do travel to different locations the price of the sitting will depend on haw far we must go.
5. Should every one wear the same color?
A. No, Every one does not have to wear the same color, but you mite want to wear similar clothes (ex. all formal or all semi formal, or all casual)
6. Do children have to be a certain age for family portraits?
A. No, We photograph children of all ages.
7. What are the sitting fees?
A. The sitting fees can be found on the Family Portrait page.
8. Do you have packages?
A. Yes, We have 4 packages. But you can order individual photo if the package isn't what you want.
9. Can you do retouching? (ex. Glare on glasses)
A. Yes, We can remove small imperfection for an $8.00 fee. We can also remove large scars, braces, and other repairs for an hour fee.
10. Can you do Christmas cards with our family portrait on it?
