Dan's Creative Portraiture Help Page

There are 5 possibilities on why you got to this page

1. You are using an really old browser.  This site will work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 3 or higher and Netscape 3 or higher.    We would strongly recommend that you upgrade your browser to version 4. You are missing out on a lot of special effects and new features of the newer browsers.   We prefer Microsoft Explorer 4 or 5 but Netscape 4 is also good. Some of the special effects on our site only works with Explorer 4 or 5.  To download the new free browsers click on the links below. If you are upgrading from one version to the newer one your e-mail settings, internet settings, etc. will automatic be transfer over to the new one without any input from you. If you are not sure about which version you have look on the toolbar on the top of your screen, click on Help,  then click on About, it should tell you which version you have.  Once you got Explorer 5 about once a month click on update on your top tool bar under Help and check for new updates and add components that will make your browser work better and faster. Click on the links below to find more info on upgrading.
Press here for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5
                   Press here for Netscape 4
Note if you have a slow connection to the internet it may take a long while to download.

   2. The browsers you are using does not have the Java enable button checked.           This site will work with Microsoft Internet 3 and 4 and Netscape 3 and 4 if you have one of these and you didn't see the horses on the first page you may need to check and see if the Java enable button is checked in your browser. In Explorer 4 go to view - internet options- then click on the Advanced tab- then check and see if the Java JIT compiler is checked if not put a check beside it. In Explorer 3 go to view-option-security tab - make sure enable Java is checked.  In Netscape 4 go to Edit - Preference -Click on Advanced on check to make sure that Java enable and JavaScript are checked also automatically load images should be checked.    In Netscape 3 go to Options-Network preference-click on the Language tab and make sure that both Java and JavaScript are enable.  If you have all the Java settings set right in your browser it and still didn't see the horses it may mean that you have missing or corrupt files in your browser.  The easiest fix would be to download the newest version of the browser and install it.  You can also go to Microsoft's help site and search for the problem there.

  3. The internet connection you have is really slow or faulty      Did you see a gray box with the words image is loading?  It could be that you didn't wait long enough for the image to load or your internet connection screwed up.  Go back to the first page hit the back button in your browser and try again hit refresh in Explorer and reload in Netscape.  It may also help to clear out your internet cache  before you try again.  You can do that from your options or preference tabs in your browsers.
